  • VM is under a Boil Water alert

The Charlotte County Utilities Department has declared a precautionary boil water notice for some customers in part of Northwest County due to a temporary loss of pressure. The affected customers will remain under a precautionary boil water notice until further notice.

    Affected area:

Between El Jobean Road, north to Hillsborough and Flamingo Boulevards, west to the Myakka River.

All customers in the affected area should boil water intended for drinking or cooking until further notice. The Utilities Department will notify the affected customers with a rescission notice as soon as the water quality is confirmed to be at safe consumption levels. As an alternative, bottled water could be used.

  • Association Declaration/Rules

A committee has been established to review and suggest revisions in the Association’s Declaration/Bylaws. It will be lead by Susan Ritter and Traci Creighton will be the board liaison.

If anyone is interested in joining this committee contact Traci Creighton via the Contact Us page (button below) as they are looking for a good representation from the homeowners.

All Homeowners are welcome to come to the meeting to listen in on the discussion and bring suggestions on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 4:30 pm in the pool area

  • New Residents in Villa Milano

The HOA Board approved a form that will be completed by the realtor in a home sale or the homeowner/property management of a home being rented. It gives our property management company information on the new resident so they can have the correct info in our database, set them up in the gate system and arrange for a welcome visit from our Social Committee. The form is attached below as well as on the HOA Documents tab above.

  • Irrigation update for ALL homes in Villa Milano (4/30 Update: Watering times 12 am to 4 am) Charlotte County has extended this through July 1st.

The county has imposed the following restrictions on all forms of irrigation in Charlotte County.:

Lawn Watering Days & Times Following the Southwest Florida Water Management District's water shortage declaration, Charlotte County residents, including those on private wells, are asked to limit watering to once per week. These measures are in effect from Feb. 8, 2026 through July 1, 2026.

Watering days are based on what number your address ends in:

    • ·         0 or 1 Monday

    • ·         2 or 3 Tuesday.

    • ·         4 or 5 Wednesday

    • ·         6 or 7 Thursday

    • ·         8 or 9, Friday, along with locations with a mix of addresses or for which an address cannot be determined (such as common areas associated with a subdivision)

Watering hours are only from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. Hand watering and micro-irrigation of plants (not lawns) are allowed any day, any time.

You will be allowed to wash your car on your watering day. The county will be patrolling all areas and there is a warning then a fine issued.

  • Gates and doors at the Pool

The gates to the pool as well as the bathroom doors have been found propped open. This is one of the items that caused the county to shut down the pool a few months ago. DO NOT prop these open.

  • Entrance Gate

If the entry gate does not open as you expect, with the fob or Cellgate application, please do the following:

    - If the fob is not working be sure you don’t need a new battery. It takes a little longer for the gate to open than with the Cellgate application

    - If your Cellgate application doesn’t work: call a friend or another homeowner to see if they can open the gate remotely with the application. Use the Contact Us page on the website to ask for help with your Cellgate application if others are not having an issue.

If this doesn’t work call the STAR emergency number (941.628.0772) and send a message via the Contact Us page. This is monitored by the HOA Board.

  • QR/Virtual Key codes for the Entry Gate

If you need a way for a visitor to come through the gates after hours there is a way for the homeowner to send an individual QR code. The code will be shown by the visitor at the gate display. These are different than the gate codes used in the past as they are specific to the homeowner that developed the code and visitor coming in the gate. The difference between the Virtual Key and a Gate Code is that the QR code cannot be shared in email or text by the recipient and changes with each use.

Click below for more information. These are developed through your CellGate application. For help in setting these up send a request via the Contact Us page. We have homeowners that will contact you to help you set the code up.

  • Parking Safety Reminder

Please be mindful when parking on the street to ensure the safety of other vehicles and pedestrians. At our recent Board meeting, safety concerns were raised regarding visibility and access between parked cars. Limited visibility increases the risk of accidents involving people walking, cyclists, and children at play.

We kindly ask all residents and visitors to park considerately to help keep our community safe.

  • Report speeding concerns

Concern noted during a Board meeting to have a reminder to residence when traveling in the community please follow the posted 15 MPH signs

If you notice a resident, visitor or vendor speeding through our neighborhood use the Contact Us page, below, to send information on the vehicle to the Safety Committee and Board for follow up. It is helpful to have as much information (license plate, name, vendor) as possible.
